The project was to develop a US GAAP and IFRS based financial reporting software application. The application will reference the relevant codification under US GAAP or IFRS accounting standards and provide the user with a step-by-step guide to recording technical accounting entries dictated under the relevant codification or standard. The software solves for the need to hire external expertise to perform such tasks. Through a series of relevant inputs, in-house accounting staff (or students) are afforded the opportunity to methodically work through the accounting topic or arrangement with reference to the codification and accounting standards. The software provides the final deliverables generally expected for financial reporting.

Understanding the unique challenges faced by students, such as limited space and time constraints, our platform provides accessible tools and inspiration for preparing nutritious meals. Beyond offering recipes, our website includes detailed nutritional information and encourages interaction from users, fostering a dynamic community. Supported by research and feedback from over 100 college students, our focus on simplicity, accessibility, and balance addresses the common concerns of time and money. Through strategic marketing efforts, particularly leveraging social media, we aim to raise awareness and promote healthy cooking habits among college students nationwide. MyCollegeCooking.com isn't just a recipe website; it's a collaborative platform dedicated to enhancing the well-being and success of students through nutritious eating and community engagement.

Trademarks are a unique instrument of the legal system that allows organizations and individuals to claim legal ownership over a symbol, word, or set of words that they believe represent their product/service or marketing efforts. Recent studies investigate new trademarks to gain insights into an organization’s product development and marketing innovation. My Barrett honors thesis is based on expanding a novel comprehensive dataset of new trademarks using state-of-the-art processing workflow techniques. I also examine the differentiating factors between new product and marketing trademarks. Finally, I investigate the effects of new trademarks on future cash flow from operations and return on assets.

My creative project is a Python program designed to simulate a $100,000 stock portfolio using real data about the stock market. It runs continuously on my computer and executes the main body of the code once per day at 11:00 am AZ time. It will pull prices from the internet for all stocks in the S&P 500 between 07/01/2023 and now. Each day, the program outputs two .csv files showing the makeup of the portfolio and an aggregated list of all transactions that have taken place. The financial decisions are made using Modern Portfolio Theory and the Efficient Frontier model, balancing risk and maximizing the Sharpe ratio to create the most mathematically optimal portfolio. There is a lot of documentation available to users to show the process of the code through daily executions, how to install required packages, and ultimately how to use the program. It was designed as a simulation for this project but has the potential to be expanded beyond its current bounds and eventually become a legitimate algorithm trading bot.

I found in hair metal a set of very concerning beliefs about masculinity, freedom, and consumption that reflect the essential values, beliefs, and mores of the 80s. Functioning as a response to changing gender roles and a shifting economic environment, hair asserts masculine liberty and helps its listeners assuage any fears they may have about threats to the status quo or their way of life.
