Patient-clinician interactions are central to technical and interpersonal processes of medical care. Video recordings of these interactions provide a rich source of data and a stable record that allows for repeated viewing and analysis. Collecting video recordings requires navigating ethical and feasibility constraints; further, realizing the potential of video requires specialized research skills. Interdisciplinary collaborations involving practitioners, medical educators, and social scientists are needed to provide the clinical perspectives, methodological expertise, and capacity needed to make collecting video worthwhile. Such collaboration ensures that research questions will be based on scholarship from the social sciences, resonate with practice, and produce results that fit educational needs. However, the literature lacks suggested practices for building and sustaining interdisciplinary research collaborations involving video data. In this paper, we provide concrete advice based on our experience collecting and analyzing a single set of video-recorded clinical encounters and non-video data, which have so far yielded nine distinct studies. We present the research process, timeline, and advice based on our experience with interdisciplinary collaboration. We found that integrating disciplines and traditions required patience, compromise, and mutual respect; learning from each other enhanced our enjoyment of the process, our productivity, and the clinical relevance of our research.
Carbon Dioxide Removal (CDR) is essential to meet the Paris Agreement’s commitment to stay below a 1.5 degrees Celsius average temperature increase. To provide critical foundational support to the development, deployment, and scaling of CDR, certification of carbon removal is needed. The international community is developing rules for the functioning of carbon markets. To support that process, we explored open questions on four key themes in the development of standards and certification of carbon removal through an international multi-stakeholder consultation process hosted by the Global Carbon Removal Partnership, Arizona State University, and Conservation International. Categories of stakeholders included standard developing organizations, non-governmental organizations, governments, and academics. Discussions covered 1. the treatment of emission reduction, avoidance,and removal in certification, 2. the role of additionality in carbon removal, 3. the choice of certification instrument for carbon removal, and 4. the treatment of durability in certification. They revealed fundamental differences in viewpoints on how certification should work. We highlight areas of further exploration, concluding that providing transparency on assumptions made at the certification level will be crucial to progress and, eventually, the acceptance and success of carbon removal as a climate solution.

Frameworks of Many into the Creation of One [FMOC] is a choreographic work that delves into the concept of identity: Who am I? Who are you? Who are we? What is the narrative that binds us? This piece offers an exploration of our interactions with the world around us as we navigate the ongoing process of self-discovery. FMCO illuminates the intersectionality of the individual within a community, examining the diverse ways in which we express ourselves in relation to our environment. IDENTITY: Individual Differences Expressed and Negotiated through Environmental Information. The work delves into the idea that identity is shaped by the transfer of information within one's environment. Through the mediums of storytelling, dance, and multimedia, FMCO offers the audience an immersive experience of frameworks and concepts that influence both their own identities and the identity of Alecea Housworth. The piece invites viewers to contemplate the dynamic interplay between individualism and the influences of one's surroundings. This paper delves into the intricate interplay between individuality and community, shedding light on the complexity inherent in the human experience. Exploring the frameworks being race, gender, religion, and gender, which impact experiences that shape the development of one's sense of self. Through the lens of dance, this study examines how individuals construct and embody their identities, offering a nuanced understanding of self-conception through communal engagement.
Our objectives are to:
1. Review the LCA literature to determine the dominant environmental impact categories in
wild-caught fisheries in order to evaluate which phases are causing the greatest impacts.
2. Determine how these impacts can best be mitigated and develop a framework that seeks
to incorporates LCA into sustainable seafood guides so that consumers can make better-
informed decisions.
This framework will include developing meaningful LCA impact categories for sustainable seafood guides. Despite their importance, we considered social factors beyond the scope of this paper.
While the scientific study of religion is not new, the topic has yet to be approached by Lifecycle Assessment (LCA). This work demonstrates a method for assessing the personal “cost” of “manufacturing” a mature religious adherent, or, a believer committed to a particular faith. By measuring such inputs as personal importance of faith, prayer, religious service attendance, religious experiences, and scripture reading, an assessment can be made of the quantity of such inputs required to engender enduring religious devotion. Ultimately, this study has demonstrated that the data typically collected in longitudinal surveys are insufficient to adequately support any firm quantitative conclusions, but the method proposed is sound and can be exploited when data becomes available.
